Role Title: Simulation Expert — Real-to-Sim 3D Environments & Assets

Role Type: Contractor

Location

Remote micro1 is engaging Simulation Experts — Real-to-Sim 3D Environments & Assets to contribute to a customer’s project focused on advanced simulation and artificial intelligence training. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and configure 3D assets and environments in simulation platforms (Isaac Sim, Gazebo, MuJoCo, or similar)
  • Translate real-world objects and instruments into simulation, matching geometry, scale, material, and physical behavior
  • Collaborate with scientists and subject-matter experts to validate accuracy of simulated environments
  • Tune physical parameters (mass, friction, collision properties, joint dynamics) so simulated objects behave like their real counterparts
  • Troubleshoot discrepancies between simulated and real-world behavior

Qualifications

Hands-on experience with at least one robotics/physics simulation platform (Isaac Sim, Gazebo, MuJoCo, Unity, Unreal, PyBullet, etc.)

Background in 3D modeling, CAD, or environment design

  • Understanding of physics simulation (rigid body dynamics, materials, sensors)
  • Strong collaboration skills working with scientific/technical stakeholders
  • Attention to detail in matching real-world fidelity
