About the Role
We are currently looking for freelance professionals to support Non-Linguistic QC activities for our translation projects in the Life Sciences domain.
Non-Linguistic QC is the final quality assurance step before delivery to the client. Typical tasks include checking for inconsistencies, numeric mismatches, formatting and layout issues, and ensuring client-specific requirements have been followed.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform Non-Linguistic Quality Control of translations into English for pharmacovigilance, regulatory, and clinical content.
- Use CAT tools and run QC checks to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Validate formatting, numbers, dates, units, terminology, and adherence to instructions.
- Support processing of non-editable/handwritten sources and perform formatting QC after conversion.
- Work according to availability and meet TATs (typically 12-24 hours).
Requirements
QC/QA Experience
- Minimum 6 months QC/QA-related experience in the localization industry. *Project management experience involving pre-delivery checks can also be counted.
Technical Skills
- Familiarity with CAT tools (XTM/Phrase), License will be provided.
- Familiarity with QA checks tools (Xbench, Verifika, or CAT-integrated QA)
- Familiarity with Track Changes in Microsoft Word
English Proficiency
- Advanced level in English (C1 or above)
Availability
- Availability of 4-5 hours per day
- Flexibility and willingness to work occasional weekends and bank holidays.
- Able to meet urgent TATs (12-24 hours) and manage many small files.
