What micro1 is

micro1 is a platform that matches contractors with AI training and evaluation projects. Its public job portal at jobs.micro1.ai lists each role with a title, a field, a location rule and, on most roles, an hourly range. This is the platform this site has tracked the longest.

Who it hires

The portal is heavy on specialists. In today's data (261 open roles listed on this site), the roles by field are: languages 37, medicine 36, law 36, STEM 32, coding 30, generalist 28, writing 27, robotics 16, finance 16, trades 3. Fields are assigned by this site from the job title and micro1's own area, so treat them as a rough guide. micro1's own staff openings (its core and extended team) are left out because they are not AI training work.

Listed pay

Of the 261 roles listed here today, 255 show an hourly range. The median listed range is $50 to $100 per hour. These are the rates written on the postings, copied from micro1's public portal data, and they are not a statement of what any person will be offered or paid. A handful of entries carry odd values, so treat extreme figures with caution and read the posting itself.

Countries

Eligibility is set role by role in the posting. micro1's referral program page also says that people in places where micro1 cannot operate for legal, regulatory or security reasons are excluded (micro1 referral program page). A complete country list was not found, so check the location line on each role.

How applying works

You apply from the role page on micro1. A third-party job page describes an interview run by an AI interviewer (aitrainer.work), and micro1's referral program page says referred candidates must complete certification (referral program page). The exact steps differ by role and were not verified first-hand for this page.

Is micro1 legit?

Evidence in favour: the roles are public, they state a rate, and the company publishes its referral terms in full (referral terms, last updated 24 September 2026).

Evidence against: a Glassdoor review alleges fake job posts used to gather sign-ups (Glassdoor), Trustpilot carries reviews too (Trustpilot), and a July 2026 Medium essay criticises the contract terms, including likeness and voice use (Medium). These are opinions and allegations, not findings. Reaching an interview, a project or a payment is not assured by any listing.

Payment

How micro1 pays contractors on projects was not verified for this page. For referrals, micro1's referral program page says payouts are credited to a micro1 account wallet (referral program page), and the referral terms say micro1 may ask for a W-9 or W-8 tax form before paying (referral terms).

Pros and cons

  • Pro: most roles show a rate before you apply.
  • Pro: a wide spread of fields, from law and medicine to coding and languages.
  • Con: the referral terms let micro1 withhold or reverse payouts "for any reason or for no reason" (referral terms), which shows how much discretion the company keeps.
  • Con: mixed public feedback, as above.
  • Con: openings change quickly, so a role seen yesterday may be gone.
